05/30/2023
Cécile has set up her workshop in Barjols, complete with potter’s wheel and kiln. She makes homeware and decorative objects in stone using several traditional techniques: turning, flat-cut work or rolled coils. On Sunday 18th June and Sunday 16th July she invites you to Lou Calen hotel for a 4 hour session of pottery and ceramics discovery and practice. Come and get stuck in! Your finished creations will be delivered to you at home 3 weeks later, and being glazed and fired in Cecile’s workshop.

Cécile Etève, a potter based in Barjols

Cécile creates and crafts homeware and decorative objects in stone. She aims to create artisanal pieces that are both sophisticated and delicate while refining them with a wave of colour or a striking, unusual detail.

Each of her pieces is entirely unique, made by hand using one of her several techniques: turning, flat-cut work or rolled coils. The crafted object will either be left as it is or then decorated by hand using coloured shapes that use unusual patterns and textures. Cecile can often be found at local markets where she sells her wares all year round.

Cécile Etève is teaming up with Lou Calen for a series of introductory workshops in pottery and ceramics.
