Lou Calen's Bookstore

Come and visit Lou Calen’s new bookstore in the heart of Cotignac! Located at 1 Cours Gambetta in the hotel reception, it is open 7 days a week. This new space for culture, designed for lovers of books and fans of Provence, brings together more than 4,000 literary titles in French and English. Designed as a warm and welcoming spot in the heart of the hotel, the bookstore offers visitors a varied and carefully curated collection. Whether it’s to discover the literary successes of the moment, rediscover the great classics or dive into regional works that celebrate Provence, every reader will find something to delight them, and something wonderful that they are looking for.

A Bookstore For All

Lou Calen’s bookstore offers books from a rich variety of genres, from fiction to humanities, fine arts, youth and tourism. Subcategories, such as French literature, thrillers and adult comics, offer more specific choices, while a popular section of books in English completes this cosmopolitan selection.

The bookstore also promotes regional authors, from classic novels such as Marcel Pagnol and Jean Giono, to contemporary and foreign authors inspired by their love of Provence. The hotel team, always on the lookout for new literary releases and customer recommendations, ensures that the shelves are filled with books that are dynamic and inspiring for locals and travellers alike.

The True Essence of Lou Calen Captured in a Concept Store

In the four corners of the bookstore, a wonderful selection of special local products are on offer, the perfect gift to enable you to take a little bit of Lou Calen back with you and prolong your Provençal experience, or to take back a little piece of Cotignac to your loved ones.

You will find authentic olive oil produced on the Lou Calen estate, as well as a range of natural skincare products drawing on the virtues of the olive tree, created by the brand Une Olive en Provence. Then, discover the hotel’s perfumes with summer and winter scents that transport you through the Provençal seasons, while the illustrated postcards, with their small sachets of herbal tea or lavender, will happily accompany any tender written words.

Furthermore why not pick up a straw hat, water bottle, kitchen apron, bathrobe, tote bag, lavender spindle, and much more. Everything so carefully designed in the Lou Calen way to brighten up your daily life and your future adventures.
