Based in Provence, writer Bruno Carpentier crafts crime novels and historical thrillers deeply rooted in the region. At the bookshop, he will present and sign his works, including Arma Christi, his latest investigation and Coup de Cœur 2025 at the Blues & Polars Festival.
About the author:
Born in Belgium in 1963, Bruno Carpentier moved to Provence in 1971. After a career in the army (Infantry – French Foreign Legion), he retired to the land of Pagnol and notably published La Crypte de Saint-Maximin, a historical thriller based on the figure of Mary Magdalene. In 2023, he joined Marseille-based publisher Melmac with La Source bleue (Celts and Witches in Provence). In March 2025, he releases Arma Christi, the latest investigation led by his recurring character, Commander Ana Boyer (PACA Criminal Investigation Unit), this time tackling a migrant trafficking network in the Western Mediterranean and along the French coast. Arma Christi has been named Coup de Cœur 2025 at the Blues & Polars Festival.
