Barbaroux Golf: the Golfers’ Paradise in the heart of Var
A stone’s throw from the Côte d’Azur, one of the most prestigious European golf courses sits likes a jewel carved out of stunning Var natural setting. The Barbaroux golf course, designed in the American style by architects Pete Dye and PB Dye, ensures that each space and each body of water provides a place where sporting creativity and technique can be freely expressed, and thereby provide a unique golfing experience.
Its natural environment is spectacular: the Barbaroux golf course spreads over 87 hectares of valleys filled with pines and oak trees. The particular climate of the Var countryside promises 300 days of sunshine per year, which entices all-year-round seasonal golf. Winters are dry and sunny, with temperatures reaching 15°C in December and January.
Ready to take on the challenge of putting on the largest golfing green in Europe?
The internationally renowned course extends over 5,800 metres. The golfing fairways follow a path between olive groves, vineyards, pines and oak trees, as well as offering panoramic views of the surrounding hills. The Barbaroux course promises a stimulating sporting challenge, suitable for all levels of golfers. Watch out for the strategically placed bunkers and water hazards, your game will require careful precision and good strategy.
An eco-responsible approach in line with Lou Calen
The Barbaroux Golf Club is taking on the challenge of obtaining the BRONZE level of the Golf for Biodiversity Label, supported by the FFGolf and the National Museum of Natural History. Several action plans have been taken on by naturalists and local experts in order to respect and promote botany, insects and birds, three major links in biodiversity, within the golf course.
