Julie Ewa is coming to present Au-delà, her new book about her repeated out-of-body experiences. Between shock, investigation and search for meaning, she explores the limits of reality and, with clarity, challenges what we believe possible, shaking our certainties about consciousness.
About the author:
Julie Ewa is 34. A globe-trotting writer with master’s degrees in philosophy and social work, she travelled across Europe in her van, working with children through various charities. In 2021, an extraordinary experience shook her vision of the world. She then developed an interest in altered states of consciousness and co-founded the Groupe des Expérienceurs de la Conscience (GEC), an association bringing together researchers and experiencers to explore these still little-known phenomena.
“A powerful vibration takes hold of my limbs. In an instant, it feels as though thousands of ants begin to race beneath my skin. My feet, my legs, my arms. It isn’t unpleasant, but it completely catches me off guard. I am perfectly still, unable to move. […] My God, what is happening to me?”
Nothing in Julie Ewa’s life suggested she would one day experience something like this. And yet, one morning, an extraordinary phenomenon occurs: she leaves her body. The event shakes her to the core. What does it mean? Is it real, or a trick of her imagination? Far from being an isolated incident, it happens again. Once, twice — ten times…
Refusing to turn away from the inexplicable, Julie Ewa decides to investigate. Her goal: to understand, to test, to verify. To find proof that she is not hallucinating. With clarity and honesty, she shares her doubts, her questions and her research into this still little-known phenomenon. Though her experiments will lead her to take part in a scientific study, it is beyond that the greatest journey begins — where the limits of what is possible begin to waver.
